car of your choice review by Andrew Wood6-29-2005
Overall rating: 10/10 Good points: Large and roomy, especially in the rear. Huge boot if you buy the 7-seater. Very quiet and smooth (1.9TD) - eats motorways in great comfort. Totally reliable (10k from new). Lots of clever stow spaces under floor, drawers under seats. Versatility. Bad points: Dash display a bit disjointed. All stow-space below driver's eyeline. Gearbox notchy for first 5k miles. Rear headroom limited for adults (no problem for kids). Heating is fine but air-con struggles to cool in hottest (+30C) weather. Main review: I love this car. The Renault ad on TV where people wanting to see the family - they have to wait by the side of the road 'cos the family are always out in their car - sums it up. I just want to spend time in the car. Light and airy and very comfortable. Very versatile - seats fold/flip in seconds. Large glass roof was not even on the option list 'til I drove with one - now I wouldn't buy a car without it.
Reliability: 10/10 Practicality: 10/10 Performance: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10
