Renault Megane review by Laura Gray12-22-2004
Overall rating: 1/10 Good points: Looks Stylish Bad points: Completely unreliable. Consistent electrical faults that make the car undrivable. Main review: Although a stylish looking car at a reasonable price I would strongly recommend that you do NOT buy a Renault Megane. I bought a new car just over a year ago and since then I have taken it to the garage for repairs on 6 separate occasions. The faults are mainly electrical and cause the car to loose power to varying degrees...including stopping completely. The Renault garages seem baffled by the number of electrical components and are unable to remedy problems in this area. Courtesy cars are always booked up in advance so inevitably you are left without transport. Renault customer service department are also unable/unwilling to assist with these matters. Renault provides a breakdown service through the AA. I have called out the AA on numerous occasions (!!) and several different AA chaps have mentioned that they are inundated with similar issues with Renault vehicles.
