Renault Megane review by Gary Miles3-25-2005
Overall rating: 10/10 Good points: styling, comfort, handling Bad points: Renault's attitude to customer satisfaction Main review: 1.6 4 door Dynamique. A really stylish, cool car with no major faults but lots of minor faults compounded by poor service from dealership and Renault's apathy when complaining of such. As soon as I bought the car (new)it used to miss a bit when cold(first 5 mins)changed plugs the coil packs - got fed up in the end and I live with it now (not as bad). front passenger side door storage compartment filled up with water (known fault aparently) repaired by dealership with a mastic gun. Sun roof whistles like an old kettle above 70mph (when closed!)Dealer fixed it so it does it at 50mph, nice of them!still whistling. Door sensors stopped working, dealership had two attempts, changed door handles (scratching a door in the process) and main computer before admitting defeat and sending it elsewhere to be fixed properly. Rear nearside handbrake sticks on when left overnight, 3 attempts at this, problem still persists. Aircon packed in yesterday, phoned Renault to complain about the car and service only to be told that there's nothing they can do! I actually still love the car (19000 miles on) and there's nothing to touch it for style and panache. even the problems aren't major ones if onl they could repair them first time in the garage.
