Ford Focus C Max review by Paul Ware 3-4-2004 Overall rating: 6/10 Good points: C-max 2.0 TDCi
very nice to drive and extemely strong when pulling a caravan/trailer.
Very nice inside with lots of storage space Bad points: The reliability is extremely poor. My car has been into my local dealership on three occaisions for the electronic parking brake, fuel light constantly on, total engine failure, steering assist failure and total EPB failure. The handbrake basically is a shambles and on my car it was a lottery as to whether it would come on and stay on. It has been in the dealership now since 24th Feb and they are still unabe to get the car to start. It was towed to the garage by the RAC and it hasn't seen the light of day since. fords own technicians are actully looking at the car today. Fingers crossed.
A friend of mine has the same make of car and theirs has been committed back to ford for a replacement car. The problems they kept having was to do with the engine management sustem light constantly staying on, high fuel consumption and total EPB failure.
ford basically rushed out the ghia models and now they are having to eat humble pie over them Main review: when they get the car right it will be a big seller. Reliability: 1/10 Practicality: 7/10 Performance: 6/10 Value for money: 7/10
