Bad points:

Poor customer care and rattles, electronic failure on my new car, mechanics at Ford Dealer do nothing but damage to the vehicle.

Main review:

Since buying my Ford Fiesta Black I have had nothing but problems from the outset, most of which have resulted from poor customer care from the dealer itself (Calder Rd Edinburgh). When I took delivery of the new car there were two faults, one a paint fault and the other a mark on the handle, the sales man spat on his finger (yes spat) and tried to rub the mark of the handle), when I booked my car in to repair the paintwork they lost my car, did not know where it was, did not return calls etc, I had to leave my car with them overnight because they then closed and I was still none the wiser. The handle was to be replaced and it took approx 6 visits to the garage both to show them my door handle because they kept on ordering the wrong one and because they booked me in to change the handle and then returned it undone. When they did eventually fit the handle they damaged my electric window which to this date despite over 5 visits and several complaints to the Director Mr Clezy remains imperfect. On one occassion they damaged the interior trim of my car and handed it back hoping I would not notice, I did and complained again. Also the dashboard suffers from intermittent rattles, the car suffered an AEA failure (electronic failure) just a year after purchase, previously I had complained to the Ford garage that the car was not performing and was cutting out when I was accelerating, at one point I called in tears as it had cut out at a really dangerous point in the road, the engine now whines occassionally. Add to this the sheer inconvenience of having to take the vehicle back and forward many times and the fact that it is never fixed when it goes in and I always fear further damage. The director concerned considers the matter closed because I am no longer prepared to take my vehicle in, understandable considering their track record. I would suggest to Ford that no matter what the product is customer service is of paramount importance. I now can't wait to sell and never buy a ford again, my advice to anyone buy a Japanese car ie Honda!!
