Alfa Romeo 166 Review & Road TestReview by www.new-car-reviews.co.uk
Summary At the top of Alfa Romeo's range, the 166 is a sporty executive saloon that provides an interesting alternative to the obvious choices; BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar ... The Alfa Romeo has good equipment levels and a well designed and built interior. External wind and tyre noise is minimal and the 166 cruises happily on longer motorway journeys. In general the only audible external noises come in the pleasing form of the Alfa Romeo 166's engines when pressed. The 166 has three petrol engine choices; a 2.0 litre unit (max speed 131 mph and 0-60 in 9.8 seconds), a 2.5 litre V6 and 3.0 litre V6 unit. The base Alfa Romeo 166's come with a six speed manual transmission as standard with an automatic box on the top of the range 3.0 litre Sportronic Lusso. On the down side the class leaders all have better handling, build quality and in general have much better residual values the Alfa Romeo 166. Review ©2006 New-car-reviews.co.uk Do you agree?
